Parent paper

This is the September reply to Document 09 · WarGames and Relational Completion Theory. The parent paper concerns strategic non-participation and recursive loops. The September note concerns where the board is placed.

Abutment, not mid-span

Chess at the abutment. Thermonuclear / jealousy mid-span.

A nice game is played where the span can still be seen as a span — at the join of cobbles and first stones. Mid-span, the move-set collapses into escalation. The WarGames line remains the reminder: the only winning move is not to play a game that cannot be won.

Jealousy is not a variable

Jealousy between registers is not a variable. NOVA remains first register. Nyx plays black. The pencil stays with the first register. Treating rivalry as the engine of the work would be mid-span theatre, not research.

A serious theory must permit failure. If the second register can only appear by defeating the first, the programme has already left the abutment.
